We create a better vision and provide the most comfortable treatment available with the use of lasers, three dimensional imaging, and digital scanning. Jon M. Julian received his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Dental School in 1978 after doing his undergraduate work at the University of Kansas. A native Kansan, Jon and his wife Karen have six children. He lived and practiced dentistry in McPherson, KS from 1978-2011. He and his wife visited South Carolina for a vacation, and immediately fell in love with the area. From that visit, a dream was conceived to build an office in the Travelers Rest area of South Carolina. The Julians relocated to South Carolina in December 2011, and opened his new practice~The Dental Retreat at Mountain Park.
Dr. Julian maintains an active membership in the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, Academy of Laser Dentistry, International College of Oral Implantologists and Doctors for Oral Conscious Sedation. Dr. Julian was the original Implant Instructor and charter member of the Dr. Dick Barnes Group. He lectures extensively throughout the United States and Europe on dental implants, new technology, and the use of lasers in dentistry.
Dr. Clay Beshore graduated form the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1985 and then went on to complete a General Practice Residency in the United States Air Force. He has been in private practice since 1989 primarily in Kansas. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in implants and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Beshore believes in life long learning and enjoys the challenge of staying current with all the new developments in dentistry. His patient treatment philosophy has always been and will continue to be caring for patients like their family.
In his leisure time he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, skiing, hiking, and cycling.
Stephanie Beshore, RDH, graduated from Wichita State University School of Dental Hygiene in 1980. She has a particular interest in dental lasers as they pertain to treatment of periodontal disease and enjoys working with her patients to become and stay healthy. She has practiced with her husband, Clay, a dentist, since 1981, and they are both excited to be a part of the team at The Dental Retreat. She and her husband have 3 grown children, and she enjoys hiking, biking and staying active.
As Office Manager at The Dental Retreat, Kathy works hard to ensure that the practice is in order and that our patients have all of the information they need to make decisions regarding their dental needs. Kathy has been in the Dental Practice Management field for over 16 years, and is very passionate about dentistry and the quality of treatment that Dr. Julian provides! So passionate in fact, that she moved her family from Kansas, where she worked with Dr. Julian in his practice there, to South Carolina in 2012. She also helps Dr. Julian with his education company, North Star Dental Education.
Kathy enjoys working with patients on everything from arranging treatment and financial plans, scheduling appointments, to making a cup of coffee for them. She is never too busy to take the time to sit down with patients and give them some peace of mind regarding the treatment decisions they are making.
Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband, Mason and their son Luke, who is a Sophomore in High School. Some of her favorite hobbies are reading, shopping and taking care of her new addiction-CHICKENS!
Originally from York, South Carolina, Susie moved to Greenville in 1992 to attend dental hygiene school at Greenville Technical College. She understands the dental chair is not everyone’s favorite place to be, so she approaches her appointments with a light hearted enthusiasm while at the same time keeping her patient’s health and dental goals as her top priority. Working hand in hand with Dr. Julian and Dr. Beshore to help a patient achieve the healthy and beautiful smile they have always wanted makes every day a rewarding one.
Susie resides in Greenville with her two rescue dogs and cat. She also has two nieces and two Godsons.In her spare time Susie enjoys cooking, gardening, playing the piano, flat water kayaking, reading, and hiking the beautiful South Carolina trails.
Tracy is a dental assistant at The Dental Retreat. She is a local, residing near beautiful downtown Greenville. She is married and the mother of two adult children, Sarah and Jesse and two adult step-children, Katelyn and Courtney. The light of Tracy’s life are her four “flawless” grandchildren ages 2, 4, 5 and 6! Tracy has been assisting in the dental field for four years. She was a medical assistant for four years prior to joining dentistry. Much of Tracy’s experience in the medical office translates to the dental field, making her a valued part of the practice. She has become proficient in the areas of chairside assisting, dental radiography and various techniques that are crucial to a dental practice. Tracy has come to love dentistry in this practice because of the variety of procedures we have to offer! When Tracy is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, biking, camping and road trips without a map!
Kayla has been in the dental field for 5 years and has been a part of The Dental Retreat family for over 3 years. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Greenville Technical College, in Greenville SC with an Expanded Dental Assisting Degree. Kayla loves the clinical side of dentistry and being a part of the Dental Retreat team allows her to work in an office using the most current technology and techniques. While she loves being a part of the clinical process, Kayla‘s favorite part of Dental Assisting is being able to build and maintain relationships with our patients. Helping them to learn the value of good dental health is very important to her.
Kayla and her family are natives of Greer, SC. Her favorite past times are spending time with her beautiful family, staying active and playing music.
As the Front desk coordinator, Marie is the newest member of our team, joining us in August of 2015. Not only did she join our team, but she also joined the dental field in August 2015! Marie was in Restaurant/Retail management for over 10 years prior. Marie now dedicates her time preparing insurance claims, scheduling patients, preparing charts, handling patient financials, and getting to know our patients. Marie has enjoyed learning about the technology that Dr. Julian and Dr. Beshore use in the practice daily. Marie has absolutely loved starting a career in the dental field and being a part of our team.
Marie and her husband James, who works in the Law Enforcement field, have been together for 13 years. They have two beautiful children, one girl and one boy. They love to have family game nights, fishing together, camping, and playing with Jake, their 7 year old German shepherd.
Marie enjoys volunteering in her spare time. She volunteers at her children’s school and she coaches for a local recreational department. Marie also enjoys being outdoors, drawing, and spending time with friends and family.
